Meteorologist moonlights as children's author

LUMBERTON - The public knows her as Carol Erickson, longtime meteorologist and newscaster.

But now she is also Carol Erickson, first-time children's author.

The township resident and CBS 3/CW Philly forecaster has managed to put her deep, lifelong passion for animals into print.

In September, she published a children's book, "Not a Used Dog, At All," with the goal of raising awareness among children and parents of the importance of adopting shelter animals, as opposed to buying at pet stores that often get their dogs from puppy mills.
